Weird & Wonderful: Lego Star Wars Foosball Table

One of the many wonders of this Internet age in which we live, is the staggering availability of Lego-inspired creativity. Decades on, and the Lego mantra still holds true – you are only limited by your imagination. Case in point being this Lego Star Wars Foosball table created by an Austrian Lego fanatic. Using [...]

Weird & Wonderful: Crayola rocket launch

Perhaps Ad agency Fallon missed a trick when they were promoting the Sony Bravia. Thousands of coloured bouncing balls? Great. Exploding paint in a Glagsow high-rise? Pretty cool. But did they think of rockets disguised as Crayons? John Coker did. Don’t ask me why.

Weird & Wonderful: The Lego pistol

For regular readers of Chad’s Eye View, you’ll have noticed anything Lego tends to get my attention. So when I saw this Lego replica 1858 Remington .45 gun, made by self-confessed ‘Lego geek’ Arkov, I was rather excited. Of course, one should point out – guns are bad. Except this one.

Weird & Wonderful: The R2-D2 beer keg

Like beer? Check. Like Star Wars. Check. Need I say more? Except, perhaps, that this has to be the best piece of targeted advertising never released.

Weird & Wonderful: Nude furniture

Sculptor Peter Rolfe has created a rather unusual line of furniture. Whilst his technical skill is impressive, it’s his sense of humour I’m drawn to. Obviously, he believes there’s no better place to keep something safe than in a woman’s drawers.

Weird & Wonderful: VHS external hard drives

So we all live in a digital age now. No clutter, no record shops. Great. Well, not quite. What do those of us of a certain age do with all our old outdated media? Turn them into cutting edge new media, of course.

Weird & Wonderful: Cutting edge jewellery

Do you ever find yourself wondering “what are all the best dressed goths and emo kids wearing this season”. No, neither do I. Although I would imagine this little number might be highly sought after. Designed by Benoit Patoureaux from Art Lebedev Studio, Punctirus jewellery is for the goth that has nothing – except [...]

Weird & Wonderful: How to recycle record sleeve art, creatively

First we had the Sleeve-face craze. And now? Well, the humble record sleeve has taken on a life of its own. Kudos to New York artist Christian Marclay for investing as much time in his work as he has records.

Weird & Wonderful: Apple shot glasses fresh for Halloween

When it comes to Halloween parties, I’m afraid I’m too old to go ‘dooking’ for apples. However, that’s not to say the humble apple needs to take a back seat at your party. Why not try making them into shot glasses. You know what they say, “an apple a day…

Weird & Wonderful: Presenting the home barber’s chair

For the gentleman who has everything. Except, perhaps, a well-groomed barnet. The Collins Commander Barber Chair offers you the chance to relax in style, as your personal barber (more likely your wife, or worse still, mum) lathers shaving foam across your unkempt face and snips away at your ungainly locks – and all in the [...]
